Effective July 1, 2026. This policy explains what Project Z does and does not do with your data, in plain terms first and precise terms second.
Project Z is built as a local-first application. Our design goal is simple: the content of your goals and courses should never need to leave your device to be useful. This policy covers the Project Z iOS app, this website, and our beta waitlist form.
We collect the minimum needed to run a waitlist and, later, to process optional subscription payments:

We never ask for your name, contact list, location, photos, or device identifiers, and the app does not request any permission it doesn't need to function.
We do not sell, rent, monetize, or share this category of data — because we never have access to it in the first place. There is no analytics SDK, no ad network SDK, and no third-party crash reporter bundled into the app.
When you type a goal, Project Z runs inference locally using Apple's on-device intelligence frameworks. No network socket is opened during generation. The resulting course is written to a sandboxed SwiftData store that is unique to your installation of the app and is included in your device's standard encrypted backups (iCloud or local), governed by Apple's own backup encryption — not by us.
Because generation happens on-device, we have no visibility into what you type, what courses are generated, or how you use them. We cannot recover this data for you if it's lost, since we never had a copy.
Because our architecture leaves zero network sockets open during execution and writes exclusively to an isolated local sandbox, it is a technical impossibility for Project Z's creators, developers, or owners to view, log, check, filter, or intercept your inputs. We maintain absolutely no administrative access or command visibility over what is typed, searched, or generated within your local application sandbox.
We rely on a small number of third parties strictly for functions we don't build ourselves:
We do not use any advertising network, analytics platform, or data broker. We have never sold personal information and we do not intend to.
Waitlist email addresses are retained until your invite is sent and for up to 12 months afterward for support purposes, unless you ask us to delete it sooner. Course and goal data never reaches us, so there is nothing on our servers to delete — deleting the app from your device, or deleting a course inside it, removes that data completely and immediately, including from any iCloud backup on your next sync.

Because Project Z does not sell personal information and does not use your data for cross-context behavioral advertising, there is no "opt out of sale" flow to run — there is nothing being sold. Residents may still submit a rights request as described in Contact Us, and we will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
Waitlist emails processed may be transferred to and stored securely on infrastructure using standard contractual clauses and safeguards for cross-border processing. Because your goal and course content never leaves your device, no international transfer of that content ever occurs.
Project Z is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because our waitlist only asks for an email address and the app itself collects no personal data at all, the practical exposure is minimal — but if you believe a child has submitted an email to our waitlist, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Waitlist submissions are encrypted in transit via TLS. On-device data is protected by iOS's sandboxing and file-system encryption. Because we do not operate a central database of user content, there is no central store of your course data for anyone to breach. No transmission or storage system is completely immune to risk, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but our architecture is deliberately designed to minimize what could ever be exposed.
If we change this policy in a way that materially affects your rights, we will update the "Last revised" date above and, where required by law, notify you through the app or the email on file. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
Effective July 1, 2026. By downloading, installing, or using Project Z, you agree to the terms below.
These Terms of Service form a binding agreement between you and Project Z's publisher. If you do not agree to them, do not download, install, or use the app. Continued use of the app after a posted update to these terms constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
We grant you a single, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and run Project Z on Apple devices that you own or control, for your personal, non-commercial use, subject to Apple's standard licensed application end user license agreement.
You may not: reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app except where permitted by law; resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the app or its output; use the app to build a competing product; or circumvent any technical measure that restricts access to paid features.
Certain advanced course-tracking and analytics features are offered under a premium subscription tier, billed and managed exclusively through Apple's In-App Purchase system.
You agree not to use Project Z to generate, store, or distribute content that is unlawful, infringing, or intended to harass or harm others, and not to attempt to interfere with the app's operation or security, including through automated scraping, jailbreak-specific exploitation, or credential abuse against Apple's platform services.
Project Z operates purely as a neutral, local text processing tool. The application core does not curate, pre-filter, manage, review, or control the phrases, terms, objectives, or instructions inputted by the user. You assume single, absolute, and total legal and criminal liability for any goal or textual prompt you input into this tool.
The creators, developers, owners, and operators of Project Z explicitly disclaim any liability or responsibility for what users search, generate, or attempt to build using the output structure of this software. You agree that you will not use this tool to compile info for hazardous, restricted, unsafe, weaponized, or illegal activities.
Project Z, its name, logo, interface design, and underlying software are the property of its publisher and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other applicable laws. Course content you generate is yours; we claim no ownership over the specific goals, prompts, or courses you create, and — because that content stays on your device — we have no ability to access, use, or reproduce it.
The app is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that generated courses will be accurate, complete, safe, or suitable for your specific circumstances, or that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of data loss resulting from device failure, operating system crashes, or user error.
The step breakdowns generated by the on-device AI model are structural approximations for educational layout planning and personal analysis only. They do not constitute certified blueprints, engineering plans, professional advice, or safety clearances.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the publisher, creator, and developers of Project Z will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, goodwill, legal infractions, safety hazards, physical harm, or financial losses arising from your choices, searches, or actions built out from application usage, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the publisher, creator, and developers of Project Z from any legal claims, suits, governmental inquiries, damages, or legal expenses arising from your direct violation of these terms or your misuse of the tool to generate hazardous or unlawful content.
You may stop using Project Z at any time by deleting the app. We may suspend or terminate your access to premium features if you violate these terms, though because course content lives on your device, deletion of access does not delete your existing local data.
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the publisher is established, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where local consumer-protection law requires otherwise. Disputes will first be addressed through good-faith informal negotiation; if unresolved, either party may pursue claims in the courts of competent jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory arbitration or small-claims rights available to you under local law.
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last revised" date at the top of this page, and where required, we will provide additional notice through the app.
Covers this website only. The Project Z iOS app contains no cookies, web views, or tracking SDKs of any kind.
This website does not set analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking cookies. It uses only what's strictly necessary to render pages. No cross-site tracking, fingerprinting, or ad pixel is present.
Because we don't deploy optional or advertising cookies, there's no consent banner to manage.
We aim for this site and the Project Z app to be usable with VoiceOver, Dynamic Type, and Reduce Motion enabled. If you encounter a barrier using either, please tell us — accessibility issues are treated as priority bugs, not feature requests.
