VIT AP Menu is built to show the VIT-AP hostel mess menu. This policy explains what data the app handles.

What we collect

Viewing the menu requires no account and collects no personal information. The app does not use analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs of any kind.

Admin sign-in

A separate, optional sign-in exists only for the person who maintains the menu (the hostel mess coordinator). This uses email/password authentication provided by Firebase Authentication (Google). This is not available to or required of regular users.

Menu data

The mess menu itself (a public list of meals and dishes) is stored using Google Firebase/Firestore. It contains no personal or user-specific information.

Notifications

Meal-time reminders, if enabled, are scheduled entirely on your device using iOS's local notification system. Nothing is sent to or from a server for this feature.

Third parties

The app uses Google Firebase for data storage and admin authentication. Firebase does not receive any personal data from regular users of this app. See Firebase's privacy policy for details on their infrastructure.

Children's privacy

This app is intended for university students and does not knowingly collect data from children.
